In the early morning of Thursday, March 31, 2022, a fire consumed a large part of the facilities of the San Juan de Dios Market, located in La Perla Tapatia. Among the dozens of tenants who were affected, the name of Salvador Sáenz, better known as Don Chava, owner of premises 1182-B with the name of Super Tortas Lokas y Kalientes or La Torta Loca, who gave away his product after the crowning of Atlas at the 2021 Apertura, stood out.
Hours after fire control was reported, the verified Facebook page of the cake shop spread a message alerting its customers. Through a brief message, the workers confirmed that “unfortunately this morning our workplace burned into flames, so we inform them that we will not be in service until further notice”.
At the same time, images of the damage suffered by the characteristic premises after the fire were disseminated on social networks. However, the publication on the social network Facebook immediately began to generate conversation among the clientele that almost exceeded a hundred interactions. Meanwhile, through Twitter, some more people called for support of local workers.
“Don Chava kept his word and gave away cakes when Atlas was champion. Yesterday his shop burned down in the San Juan Market. Time to support him” and “They are informed that during today's fire in the San Juan de Dios market the place of Don Salvador was left in ashes and it is not known how many days he will be without work. It's time to pay him the good gesture”, were the messages that were spread on Twitter.
Over the course of the hours, the details of a bank account that they enabled to receive donations were disseminated on the business's Facebook profile. It was so that on Thursday night they realized the recurring support from the fans. “We have no words to thank each of you. Infinite thanks. God bless you”, reads in the profile of the Super Cakes Lokas and Kalientes.
