
The 45-year-old from Ibaguera is one of the most renowned news anchors on Colombian television. Recently, the journalist and lawyer opened his YouTube channel where he uploads news content.
However, his followers have questioned him on several occasions because of his constant absence from his channel, which is why Juan Diego Alvira, had to step up with the comments to explain the reasons that led him not to generate content.
Precisely, the communicator spoke in recent days on this subject through a live feed from his YouTube account to clarify his situation.
First, the journalist explained that his absence initially occurred because he is having serious problems falling asleep at night.

While recounting his illness, the presenter shared a video about this disease that also affects 45% of the Colombian population, who have to resort to medication to be able to sleep.
According to a 2017 study by the Colombian Association of Medicine, 4 out of 10 Colombians suffer from insomnia while 3 out of 10 snore and 2 out of 10 have to take medication to mitigate this problem.
According to this study, one of the causes of insomnia is the excessive use of electronic devices, since the light from them goes directly to the eyes activating a gland in the brain.
Likewise, this disease increases over the years and affects women more than men, since they are more likely to suffer other diseases such as obesity.
The city in the country with the most cases of insomnia is Bogotá, which also has the highest overall risk of sleep apnea with 19 percent, in most cases it occurs in men.
Similarly, the study found that the most frequent disorders are snoring with 45%, kicks with 37% and 8.6% corresponding to respiratory pauses.
Experts recommend that in order to have a better quality sleep it is necessary to bring a good diet, disconnect all kinds of appliances or devices that are inside the room, as well as respect the hours of sleep.
