Focus of the second World Cup round is on the female four-man pilots

The first of eight rounds of the Viessmann FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Cup Series 2014/2015 has been completed. Five athletes from four nations won their races in Lake Placid: Martins Dukurs (LAT, men’s skeleton), Francesco Friedrich (GER, two-man bobsleigh), Elana Meyers Taylor (USA, woman‘s bobsleigh) and Maximilian Arndt (GER, fourman bobsleigh).

Viessmann World Cup Luge Tour Returns to Lake Placid Dec. 5-6

After opening the post-Olympic luge season near Innsbruck, Austria on Nov. 29-30, the second stop on the Viessmann World Cup tour will bring the fastest athletes on ice, representing 15 nations, to Lake Placid on December 5-6.

At its last Executive Committee Meeting the FIBT (Féderation Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing), world governing body for Bobsleigh and Skeleton, decided that the four-man bobsleigh competition will be opened for mixed gender and female teams.
