About one month after the death of talent Miller Stiven Falla at the hands of thieves who stole his cell phone in Bogotá, the Colombian National Police captured three men who were accused of being responsible for this violent act in the early hours of last Sunday.
The perpetrators will be prosecuted and will face the indictment hearing this Monday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m., authorities said.
The Mayor's Office of Bogotá had established a reward of 20 million pesos for information that gave the whereabouts of those responsible for this promise of Colombian football, killed in the east of the capital by injuries caused by a robbery on his mobile phone.
The regrettable event occurred in the Patio Bonito neighborhood, in the town of Kennedy in the capital of the Republic when he was approached by two armed men to steal his cell phone. At the time of the assault, Miller Stiven was in the company of two friends from school.
According to the victim's father's statements to City TV and Caracol News, his son did not resist the moment of the robbery, so he doesn't understand the robbers' reaction to taking Miller Stiven's life.
“They asked my son for his cell phone, he lifted his shirt and when he passed the cell phone to him, the man shot him in the abdomen. My son fell to the ground, stared at the companion and said 'calm down, nothing happens' and they closed their eyes.”
“The saddest thing is that, according to the girls, Miller never opposed handing over the cell phone. Out of pure joy they shot him,” added the progenitor.
After the robbery, the minor was immediately transferred to the Western Clinic where they tried to save his life, but he arrived without vital signs.
The América de Cali club spoke on their social networks about the death of the young promise of Colombian professional football.
“We regret the sensitive passing of Miller Stiven Falla, player of our Andino FC Franchise. We express our solidarity and sincere condolences to their families at this difficult time.”
Miller Stiven Falla had been coaching football for 10 years, because of his touch and discipline he was considered a promise of the sport, which is why his parents had their hopes for him.
They cut off the future of a sportsman boy. Since I was 5 years old I was coaching football, I had been coaching football for 10 years, I didn't deserve to have one of these things done to my son. Please, I demand justice,” his father declared when he learned of his son's death. A fact that, it seems, will have justice in the coming weeks.
