This Saturday, the attacks between a religious group from Tuxtla Gutiérrez and one of its neighbors went viral, who denounced through their social networks that they suffered discrimination because they belonged to the LGBT+ community; however, at the same time, versions appeared by church affiliates, who clarified that the situation was provoked by the same individual.
According to the words of those affected, shared through social networks by Facebook user Daniel López, the first aggressor would have been the young man who ended up unsettled, identified as José Luis López, as they attached videos in which he was seen spitting and throwing water outside the church.
On the other hand, José Luis himself was also recorded to share the blow he had received, which ended with a severe wound to the skull, which caused blood on his face and clothes, so he immediately went viral through social networks.
According to the young man, the aggression he suffered was due to his sexual orientation, as he criticized the lack of understanding on the part of the religious group and accused homophobia on the part of the members.
On the other hand, and in response, Daniel López revealed that the person belonging to the LGBT+ community, who is also his direct neighbor, had intimidated the church, made mockery and even verbally confronted the receptionists.
“Today we were attacked with physical violence, damaging a woman in our church with metal where she was suddenly beaten in the back,” described the user, who also added a photograph as evidence.
He then went on to explain that “this person first assaulted a church servant with a bucket of creolin without any kind of previous aggression”, in addition to accusing witchcraft and mockery of religious beliefs.
This situation happened last Friday, April 22; however, conflicts between those involved have been going back several months, so the conflict ended up erupting through documented physical aggressions.
On the other hand, young José Luis described what happened and demanded justice: “How is it possible that they can say that they worship God so much and have done the harm they did to me today. My head is cracked, they broke my phone and they really just hurt me like this,” he said.
So far, the authorities have not spoken about it, since it is unknown whether there is any formal complaint by any of the aggressors, beyond the evidence presented by the affected family and their demand for justice.
Opinions have been polarized on social networks, since the culprit, if any, is unknown, nor is there any knowledge of the true origin of the confrontations between those involved, actions that took place in the capital of the state of Chiapas, Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
