From Cusco, the head of Defense, José Luis Gavidia, rejected the statements of the president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, who in a public intervention hinted that if you would be organizing within the Armed Forces, a coup d' état against Pedro Castillo.
“I want to make it clear that our Armed Forces are respectful of the Constitution and their mission is to defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will not give up an inch to defend it,” said Gavidia for Canal N.
The minister pointed out that “by no means” Premier Torres' opinions are viable. Hours later, through his Twitter account, he returned to the subject. From social networks, he specified that “the Armed Forces belong to all Peruvians.”
Similarly, he spoke out against the attitude of the former soldiers who withdrew, in the presence of President Pedro Castillo, from the ceremony for the 25th anniversary of Operation Chavin de Huántar.
“I reject the attitude of some retired military personnel who attended the ceremony where honors were paid to the courageous commandos who lost their lives in the Chavín de Huántar military operation,” he said on social media.
Likewise, Gavidia considered that the reaction of this group of soldiers is “a lack of respect for our heroes” and asserted that during today's event “terrorism was emphatically repudiated”.
WHAT DID ANÍBAL TORRES SAY IN CUSCO?
Aníbal Torres, during the VI Decentralized Council of Ministers, assured that there is a plan to 'unhead' the Executive and that a military coup d'état would be being prepared to put “the lady who lost the elections” in power, referring to the leader of the Popular Force, Keiko Fujimori.
“They are permanently hindering the Executive, who somehow want to get rid of the head, so as not to let it work and that is not right. They are now heavily encouraged by the bill we have presented to ban monopolies, oligopolies, dominant positions, or hoarding and speculation,” said the prime minister.
“We are really affecting the rights of these people who practice this economy that harms the great majorities, the poorest population and then persists in their desires, making the church intervene to take advantage of a popular phrase to distort it and continue condemning the Executive, confront it and seek another cause. for the presidential vacancy”, said the premier, referring to the criticism he has received for calling Monsignor Barreto 'miserable'.
In addition, Torres warned that “the plan does not end there, the plan will move forward until some senior military members speak in the same direction to carry out the coup d'état. The ombudsman has already expressed who should be the next president, the lady who lost the elections.”
At the beginning of his speech, he said that “a small sector of our population, but with great economic power, has not yet recognized or recognized Pedro Castillo's triumph in the elections. It does not recognize the popular will and from the first day it took office, the coup d'état has been sought through the presidential vacancy, the constitutional trial and the presidential resignation, but they did not succeed”.
He indicated that “in Congress they wanted to do it through the vacancy and they requested it again and they have not succeeded either. Now it's the constitutional indictment. They do not stop at that purpose of destroying democracy and local, regional governments and the authorities who are here condemn the coup d'état.”
