Henry DeTamble and Claire Abshire form a happy couple, who would not be distinguished from other happy couples if it weren't because, due to a genetic alteration, he travels through time in unforeseen ways. The story based on the global bestseller The Time Traveler's Wife (The Time Traveler's Wife), by American Audrey Niffenegger, stands out among the upcoming series premiere on HBO Max, and to announce its departure the platform presented this trailer.
Since May 15 and over six episodes Henry (Theo James) and Claire (Rose Leslie) will try to live their love while facing this particularity that makes him disappear from time to time, exposing him to danger and crossing them out of the order of his life: on a trip, for example, he meets her when she was still a child. This is how they try to sustain their erratic history as the ages go by with their fashions and hairstyles.
“We met by chance,” Clare says. “In the wrong order.” And Henry repeats, “I hate being there when she doesn't exist.”
Like a version of Romeo and Juliet who, instead of fighting the social force of two families, face an enemy as unknown as time, Henry and Claire turn stories about the total capacity of love. Henry's travels, moreover, often lead to extreme circumstances: he appears on a railway track, while a train is approaching, or in front of a group of policemen in the midst of shooting chase. Not to mention the problem that he arrives naked.
Steven Moffat (Sherlock) adapted Niffenegger's novel and David Nutter (Emmy for Game of Thrones and Band of Brothers) directed its limited series version. This fiction had already been brought to the cinema, in 2009, under the title of I will love you forever and the performances of Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams.
James and Leslie lead the cast that is completed by Desmin Borges, Natasha Lopez, Jason David, Jaime Ray Newman, Kate Siegel, Josh Stamberg, Taylor Richardson and Michael Park. The executive production, in addition to Moffat and Nutter, features Sue Vertue, Brian Minchin and Joseph E. Iberti.
