The Northeast Cartel was barely able to enjoy its power in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, where several narcomantas were placed warning of extortionists and kidnappers belonging to the criminal group.
On Thursday morning, images of tarpaulins placed in the middle of the streets circulated on social networks, in which you can see the faces and names of people who supposedly extort and charge fees on behalf of the CDN.
Narcomantes are read as a declaration of war against the cartel. Journalist Hector de Mauleón explained that after the capture of its main leader, Juan Gerardo Treviño Morales, the Egg, other criminal groups would try to take power away from him.
The situation is already visible in the state of San Luis Potisí, where on April 5 federal forces were ambushed by an armed command on the Querétaro-San Luis Potosí highway.
According to reports, the alleged hit men arrived in the area aboard three vans: a gray Lincoln, a black pick up and a Pontiac Torrent. The scene recreated by the elements warns that the gunmen parked the van on the side of the road and started shooting. Official information indicates that an officer lost his life.
A few hours earlier, panic had broken out in Tamazunchale, where the arrival of a commando was reported to travel through the main streets of the municipality.
Regarding the facts, the governor of the entity explained that they were men who only passed through the region, but that their destination was Hidalgo and Veracruz.
The next day, Tamazunchale looked deserted, with businesses and schools closed as a result of a psychosis unleashed by two executions that occurred days earlier.
In 2020, violence skyrocketed in San Luis Potosi. That year, on October 5, 13 dead bodies were located on a highway that goes to the neighboring state of Zacatecas. The bodies were left in a vehicle with a drug message that warned that this would happen to all the jaliscas.
Just two days later, in Vanegas, nine shrunken, tied and tortured corpses provoked terror.
The presence of five criminal organizations has been identified in San Luis Potosí (in north-central Mexico): the Gulf Cartel, the Northeast Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, the Gulf Cartel, the Taliban and the San Luis New Generation Cartel.
