Within the rallies of the Mexican National Team, all kinds of matches take place between the players and the coaching staff, many of them stay within the same team, while others are publicly announced; such was the case of the difference that Carlos Salcedo had with Jorge Theiler and Gerardo Tata Martino in the 2021 summer tournaments.
The current MLS player got upset with the Tata Martino assistant, so he spoke with the Argentine to remedy the situation. Until then, it was unknown what conversation the two had was, but the central defender was in charge of telling his version and how his last talk with Martino took place.
For Fox Sports, the former Tigres player revealed the details of his latest talk with the helmsman of the Aztec team. In his last call to the Tri, shortly after the 2021 Gold Cup, Salcedo approached Tata to discuss the misunderstandings that went viral due to the discussion he had with Jorge Theiler.
As detailed, both parties said to each other what they had to confess and Salcedo explained that he would respect Gerardo's decision if he no longer called him for the Mexican National Team. He also made it clear to him that he was not looking to make an unnecessary enmity, so he showed him about the Argentine's decisions.
“I always told him that the last time we talked, we talked very well about half an hour 40 minutes; he told me his things, I told him my things and I ended up with something very clear that I said to him: 'Teacher, I didn't come to make enemies in this life, believe me that if you think I'm not for the selection I'm not going to save you no grudge. Tomorrow when I see him, he can be my technician here or anywhere and I don't want to do that bad blood,” he explained.
He also considered that he currently has a good relationship with Tata Martino, so there would be no reason for misunderstanding between the coach and the player. “I think we have a very good relationship,” he said.
