Venezuelan migration to Colombian territory has been one of the most important issues faced by the national government along with each of the departmental and municipal governments in the country.
Well, in addition to the large number of people who come from the neighboring country to look for a job opportunity, they also seek support in different ways, such as food, health, housing, among others, due to the complicated economic circumstances that the neighboring country has been going through for some years.
Colombia is the country in the world that has hosted the most Venezuelans with more than 1 million according to figures reported up to 2020 by the UNHCR Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants of Venezuela.
This has forced him to design strategies to provide a better quality of life for migrants. In order to achieve this goal, President Ivan Duque, in partnership with the United States Government, has created the Integra Project.

What does it consist of? , well, according to the Colombian president, these are three axes of “a project with which we improve migration management, strengthen territorial entities in the socio-economic integration of migrants and reduce discrimination”.
In an effort to improve in many respects the reality of many Venezuelans of different ages who arrive in the country, the government will have care centers for these people and anyone who needs it, to protect their rights and to be able to meet the greatest needs of foreigners.
Duque also assured that he will seek not to lose heart in the objective of ending migration by rejecting the Venezuelan government under Nicolás Maduro, which he describes as a dictatorship.

It is hoped that with the Integra Project, the regions where the most migrants are concentrated and where they have the greatest needs will be impacted. For this purpose, the government hopes to be able to make a presence with the proposal in at least 9 departments of the country, including mainly those in the north such as the Atlantic, Córdoba, Norte de Santander, La Guajira, etc., as it is closer to the border crossing.
It is also expected that the project will be carried out in the main cities of the country such as Cali, Medellín, Bogotá, etc., which is where migrants come the most to obtain job opportunities, among other things necessary to live in Colombia.
