The cultural scene in Bogotá does not stop. After the success of the Ibero-American Theatre Festival and the expectation generated by the face-to-face launch of the International Book Fair -FilBo- after two years of virtual domination, the capital receives the International Day of Dance and for this, the District Institute of Arts -Idartes- prepared a program that expects involve all citizens.
The agenda consists of several events to be held on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April, where typical dances will be exalted and new aspects that have been welcomed both locally and regionally, especially among young people, will be recognized. Thus, on the first day a discussion will be held where the Currulao will be discussed, in which, incidentally, a tribute will be paid not only to this practice but to those groups that keep this Pacific dance alive.
To this end, several exponents from Bogotá, Medellín and Cali, including Maestro Francisco Hinestrosa, will meet in the same discussion that can be seen on Facebook @Danzaenlaciudad from 9:00 a.m. Complementing this meeting, the second and last day, will be held in the bay of the Jorge Eliécer Gaitan Theater a artistic event of the currulao in which attendees and other passers-by will be able to participate under the baton of the choreographer, dancer and cultural manager, Jairo Cuero.
This activity will not only take place in the capital of the country, but will also be moved, simultaneously, to the Plaza de San Ignacio in Medellín and to the Square of the Valle del Cauca Dance and Choreography Center, also known as 'La Licorera' in Cali.

In that same place, at 2:30 p.m. there will be a children's band led by dance puppets, which not only seeks to link the youngest, but also of their attendees and all the adults present there. At 3:25, this activity led by the company Agarrapata will give way to a champeta show by choreographer and dancer Osmi Junco. In addition, it will be complemented by a free class in order for attendees to learn the basic steps of this dance that predominates in the Colombian Caribbean.
Also in the Media Torta, salsa will have its own space from 4:30 p.m. with a class led by Catherine Estrada and Nicolás Carreño, national chachachá champions and cabaret runners-up. The closing will be led by the Sabor Capital orchestra, in charge of closing the day with a wide tropical repertoire.
