Authorities reported, in recent hours, the discovery of two bodies abandoned on public roads in Bogotá. According to what is known so far, one of the bodies was found in the town of San Cristóbal, south of the city; and the other was found in the Tunjuelo River, also south of the country's capital. The body discovered in the first mentioned locality shows signs of having been calcined; the second, for its part, is under analysis to discover the reasons for its death. Authorities have already started investigations to clarify what happened with both citizens.
The body that was burned and abandoned in San Cristóbal, say the uniformed men in charge of the case, corresponds to that of a man. The male citizen was in the Juan Rey sector. “It is known that he is a male person. Immediately, due to the situation in which he remains after being cremated, it is necessary for Medicina Legal to be able to establish properly how old he was and who this person really is,” said Lieutenant Colonel Alejandro Rodríguez, Commander of Citizen Security No. 2, in testimonies collected by the local news program, CityTV.
The authorities are investigating, as they revealed, whether the case involves a homicide caused by criminal disputes associated with drug trafficking. “In most cases, we seek to establish terror with these mechanisms and, thus, to take over the territory,” said the commander of the National Police.
The woman who was found dead, on the other hand, in the Tunjuelo River, on the border between Usme and Ciudad Bolivar, has no obvious signs of violence, however, she was rescued by the authorities who are now starting investigations to find out what really happened.
These two cases are in addition to what happened this month when the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá confirmed the discovery of a lifeless body that was wrapped in garbage bags on 26th Street with 30th Carrera. According to what was revealed on the same television channel, the body had its arms and legs tied. The victim was a man. Lieutenant Colonel Sandra Lancheros, Commander of Police of Teusaquillo, reported that Sijín, the Prosecutor's Office and Legal Medicine were in charge of the investigations.
For the same month of April, a street dweller reported to the authorities that he had found two dead bodies abandoned in the Plaza España sector. The police confirmed, after attending the emergency, that the bodies had signs of torture. Like the other body, these two corpses had their limbs tied, and also, as in the most recent case, their limbs were tied. “The Units answer the call and check the bags; they are, apparently, human remains. Then we proceed to call the Judicial Police to carry out the inspection of the corpse,” said Colonel Ernesto Goyes, Inspection Officer of the Bogotá Police, in those days.
According to what was reported, one of the bodies was shot with a firearm and the other was mutilated. In January of this year, in turn, the discovery of a dismembered body was reported in a pipe in the town of Teusaquillo, in Bogotá. According to information from the National Police, the discovery was made thanks to citizen complaints about the presence of suspicious packages next to the Arzobispo River, exactly, on Diagonal 42a with race 22, in the Colombian capital.
“Through a call to the 123 emergency line, a citizen states that in a sector of Teusaquillo, it seems that there are parts of a body next to some rubble,” said Police Colonel Jorge Pinzón.
