The Peruvian National Police (PNP) ruled on the least outraged by the 'Chiclayo Monster'. Through an extensive statement, the institution urged citizens to refrain from disseminating or sharing videos and photos of little Damaris.
The PNP began the letter stating that the aggressor of the 3-year-old girl, Juan Antonio Enriquez García, 48, is already being held in the Picsi prison, located in Chiclayo. This after the authorities imposed 9 months of pretrial detention on him while investigations into the case continue.
In the second point, the Police refer to the “alleged leak of the images of the minor”, which went viral on social networks. “The PNP Inspectorate General conducts the relevant inquiries internally, to determine the responsibilities that would occur among the police personnel in charge of the discovery,” the statement said.
In this regard, the institution states that the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Adolescent prohibits such actions because they affect the child's right to privacy and identity.
“The National Police urges the community in general to refrain from disseminating and/or sharing videos and photographs of any image that violates the rights of the child, especially if they have been the victim of a crime,” he said.
Finally, the PNP reaffirmed its commitment to protect minors and adolescents, taking appropriate measures through its specialized units and preventive centres, in order to preserve their lives and prevent them from falling victim to prohibited practices in their grievance.
“FOR THE WELFARE OF MY BABY”
Last night, the father of the girl victim of the 'Chiclayo Monster' made a similar request to all of Peru. From Chiclayo, the father of little Damaris urged those who have audiovisual material of his daughter to delete the photos and videos where she appears his face.
This request seeks to prevent the minor from being recognized in the future and affecting her interpersonal development. “What she has suffered is something serious and she will not forget it overnight, even though she is a baby. Ask them, please, that if there are photos or videos, delete it for the welfare of my baby,” the girl's father urged Exitosa.
Along these lines, the minor's father indicated that he plans to leave his native Lambayeque, along with his whole family, to start from scratch in a city where they don't know what happened to their little girl. “I do it so that my girl does not suffer in the future, because she has suffered enough,” he regretted.
He also thanked the population for the economic and moral support they have given him in recent days. It also praised the deployment of medical personnel and authorities for making available medical equipment that helped to improve the quality of life of the child. “To tell the Peruvian people thank you for their support. Thank you all,” he said.
