They arrested five members of the band dedicated to the theft of ATMs in Edomex

Five members of “Los Marrufos” were arrested by authorities of the State of Mexico, who allegedly were responsible for robbing ATMs in different municipalities of the entity; in addition to being identified as generating violence in Ecatepec.

The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico reported that “the detention of these subjects was carried out in the streets of the Ejidal Emiliano Zapata neighborhood, municipality of Ecatepec and during the mobilization, they were found wrappers of grass with the characteristics of marijuana and a grass scale, so the investigation for the fact that the law designates as crimes against health”.

The detainees were identified as “Jorge de Jesús “N” alias “Chucho and/or Chicharras”, Juan Fernando “N” alias “el Lacón”, César David “N” alias “el Flaco and/or Loco”, Saúl “N” alias “El Expansiones” and Alejandro “N” alias “el Ruco” “, who are identified as generating violence in this municipality, are also investigated for various ATM robberies.”

According to information provided by the Mexican Public Prosecutor's Office, the detainees were engaged in the theft of ATMs in the municipalities of Coacalco, Ecatepec, Tecámac and Tlalnepantla.

“One of the events in which they probably participated, occurred on March 24, in the municipality of Tlalnepantla, this in violation of a banking institution, where it was established that Jorge de Jesús “N”, Juan Fernando “N”, César David “N” and Alejandro “N”, are the ones who seize the ATMs, while Saul “N” openness”, reported the Prosecutor's Office.

A month earlier, on March 14, the Nezahualcoyotl Regional Prosecutor's Office announced that its troops arrested members of another criminal gang dedicated to the theft of ATMs, who operated in the municipalities of Chimalhuacán, Texcoco, Acolman and Los Reyes la Paz, as well as in the iztapalapa mayor's office in Mexico City .

Information released by the Mexican authorities revealed that the subjects preferred to carry out looting at bank branches in Coppel and Banco Azteca, in which several incidents were recorded during the past year.

One of these events occurred on October 3, 2021, when two men detonated an ATM in Acolman, which they filled with oxidizing gas and acetylene, which was denoted by the action of a 12-volt accumulator connected to a 12-meter cable, which was manually operated by the alleged criminals.

In this way, various robberies were carried out in several bank branches in municipalities near Mexico City, so the Mexican authorities carried out investigations corresponding to the events, which resulted in the arrest of two subjects, one of whom was originally from Nezahualcoyotl, and another from Santa Martha Acatitla, and they allegedly belonged to the same criminal group.

In addition to the inquiries against these two criminal gangs, the State Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation kit for the presence of another criminal group operating in a similar way in the entity.

Also in Ecatepec, Civil Protection personnel captured during the early hours of this Thursday, April 14, an African lion cub in the Las Américas subdivision, where he was found wandering the streets of the State of Mexico.

Firefighters of the entity and staff of the Department of Environment and Ecology of the entity captured the feline and transferred it to the Ehécatl Ecological Park, where it was placed under permanent observation, because it was not in the best health conditions.
