Waldir Sáenz analyzed Alianza Lima's performance so far in the 2022 Copa Libertadores. Carlos Bustos' team has not been able to score a victory in these first two dates, but the 'blue and white' idol assured that River Plate and Colo Colo did not greatly outperform the Peruvian club.
“The teams haven't gone over it, Alianza has had chances, they haven't taken advantage of it and in these kinds of matches, the ones you have to put in because they are very intense commitments, where they are won in the last 20 minutes,” he said in an interview with GOLPERU.
The former footballer declared that the rivals of the 'intimate' team knew how to retain their advantage. “When you score a goal, you handle it in the best way, so that hasn't happened to Alianza. The other teams scored and managed to keep it until the end.”
When will Alianza play again in the Libertadores? His match for the third date will take place next Wednesday, April 27 at 17:00 (Peruvian time) at Castelao Stadium. His rival comes from falling 2-0 in visiting condition to the 'Millionaires'. Both of them urgently need a victory.
