Residents of the José Leonardo Ortiz district in Chiclayo raised their voices in protest, when they learned that a subject had raped and kidnapped a girl under 3 years old. The man identified as Juan Antonio Enrique García, 48, is the only suspect in this case after finding the girl inside his home.
The angry community barricaded themselves at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri) in Chiclayo, where this subject was transferred, after confessing that he kidnapped the girl.
After an exhaustive operation to determine the whereabouts of the kidnapper and that of the minor, the Divincri agents found the suspect in a house in Urb. The Shrine. They immediately intervened him to take him to the police unit.
However, great was the surprise when the police found the little girl, only three years old, unconscious, tied up and on top of cardboard, so she was immediately taken to the Teaching Hospital Las Mercedes.
Relatives of the minor asked that the full weight of the law fall against this guy who dared to tear off the innocence of this minor.
WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS CASE
It all started last Tuesday, when the girl's mother reported that her daughter was abducted by a man on the corner of La Despensa and Goicochea streets, in the district of José Leonardo Ortiz. In desperation, she asks the police officers to request surveillance cameras in the area, as the mother claims that a subject got out of a vehicle to take her girl.
In fact, the images show a sky-blue car parked on the side of the road. In a few minutes you can see how a subject descends from the car who leaves the door open. Seconds later, he is seen returning the same person with a girl in his arms. He lifts her into the passenger seat and then he boards the vehicle as a driver and runs away. According to the mother, she said that the youngest was playing in the area
Having the footage from the surveillance cameras, the police immediately set up an operation to find the child as soon as possible and quickly request to activate the Amber alert.
“The license plate is identified, more police units are alerted and the search for the vehicle is set up,” said General Fernando Díaz Zavala, head of the Second Police Macro Region, in Chiclayo.
Hours after the action carried out by the PNP, they managed to locate the vehicle on Wednesday morning. Minutes later, they arrested the driver, Juan Antonio Enrique García, who, under the pressure of the interrogation of the troops, confessed to having the minor in his possession.
“The respondent told the agents that he had indeed abducted the minor at 6:00 in the afternoon of yesterday (Tuesday), when he was asked about her whereabouts, he indicated that he was held captive on the second floor of his home located in Mz. “F” Lt. 19 Urbanization El Santuario, province and district of Chiclayo,” the National Police published in a statement.
Immediately, this suspect of raping the three-year-old girl was taken to the Divincri in Chiclayo to continue the proceedings and investigation of the case.
POPULATION IN ARDECIDA
The citizens of Chiclayo did not hesitate to hold a sit-in in front of the city's Divicri to demand that the full weight of the law fall against this subject. Neighbors are tired of the fact that kidnapping minors is a recurrent modality, so they assured that they will not let this or other cases go unpunished.
With posters and thick words, the inhabitants of this and other sectors of the northern city, expressed in front of the police agency their rejection of this reprehensible fact. The protesters' request is for life imprisonment for the person responsible for the events.
VIGIL FOR A 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL
After this painful news broke, the girl's neighbors, friends and family held a vigil on the front of Chiclayo Cathedral to demand justice for the three-year-old girl. The group of people traveled along Salaverry Avenue in the direction of the Divincri headquarters, after concentrating on the main park in this city.
For his part, the Minister of Culture, Felix Chero, spoke on his Twitter account about the case and assured that he will continue to provide the legal and psychological support required after this case that has shocked the country.
“May the full burden of justice fall on the subject accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor in Chiclayo. I have provided immediate advice from the Public Defender of the @MinjusDH_Peru at relatives of the minor to provide all the necessary support,” he said.
