Colombia's presidential candidate for the Historic Pact coalition, Gustavo Petro, is at the center of the country's political discussions for being the favorite in the polls, his uncomfortable proposals and his poised and confident personality.
It is difficult to anger this left-wing politician, who turns almost any provocation into a mockery of his opponents. Although his interlocutors are generally difficult to dispute and give him the opportunity to test his rhetorical abilities, this time it was easy to answer: the provocation was an intentional flattery.
A troll on the social network Twitter tried to appeal to Gustavo Petro's supposed selflessness with this message, accompanied by a photographic collage:
Gustavo Petro was not tagged in this post, but somehow he got to it and dared to quote her to respond publicly to his troll.
Some of his followers followed the game to continue praising his wife for the comparison with Lady Diana Spencer, who in her time was considered one of the most beautiful and elegant women in the world.
The mother of two of the politician's children was totally removed from public life and social media until last January. Although her husband makes headlines every day, makes the rest of the pre-candidates late and is a constant source of clashes between netizens, Verónica Alcocer's daily life used to be a mystery.
From the few interviews she has given to the media, it is known that she is 45 years old, was raised in a highly influential conservative family in Sincelejo and is an inveterate Catholic. She was studying law when she met Gustavo Petro, whom she married in 2000. Since then he left his career aside to dedicate himself to raising his eldest son and the other two he had with the politician.
Alcocer's social media accounts show that they were only created in January 2022. However, the Twitter account already has more than 56,000 followers and her Instagram profile has more than 40,000, including her controversial husband.
