The one-hour drama series is based on DC characters and the graphic novel by Alex Sanchez and Jul Maroh. The series will explore the life of Jackson “Jake” Hyde, a gay teenager living in New Mexico. All his life he has felt a strange attraction to water and he longs to escape from his desert environment to go to the ocean. As he explores his skills, including underwater breathing and controlling it, he also finds himself in love with his classmate, high school swim captain Kenny Liu.
As mentioned earlier, Jackson Hyde has proven to possess the ability to breathe underwater, as well as improved endurance. He can also adapt his eyes to see in the darkest of the ocean floor. It also has double chin slits on the sides of its neck, presumably, allowing it to extract oxygen from the water. In addition, it is capable of discharging powerful rays of electricity from the tips of its fingers in a manner similar to that of an electric eel.
Jake Hyde's version of Aqualad first debuted in 2010 and was created by Brandon Vietti, Greg Weisman and Phil Bourassa for the animated television series “Young Justice”. A comic book version of the character simultaneously debuted on “Brightest Day #4 ″. Khary Payton voiced the character in “Young Justice”. It is also known as Kaldur'ahm. Hyde would later become the second Aquaman in the DC canon.
The idea of HBO Max would be to create a series with one-hour episodes with shades of drama and comedy.
There are currently no scriptwriters linked to the project. Charlize Theron, A.J. Dix, Beth Kono and Andrew Haas of Denver & Delilah Films will be the executive producers.
The Aqualad series for HBO Max does not yet have a release date, but it adds to streaming plans to boost betting based on DC comics. The studio is Warner Bros. Television. In conclusion, Jackson Hayde is close to taking a leap into the live-action arena with a new series for HBO Max.
This is the latest in a batch of DC series that are being prepared, are on the way or are already airing on HBO Max.
