Until April 18, the exhibition Monumental Review will be available, which is born from the second edition of the Urban Laboratory Technofeminism, Art and Dissidence, organized by C K:\WEB, a program of the District Institute of Arts and directed by professor and researcher Julia Buenaventura.
This laboratory, which had as its theme The ones above and those below: women and monuments, proposed creating actions around existing monuments through a critical look. Based on what was discussed in these sessions, the creation of audiovisual pieces or collective actions was encouraged, which also seek to promote the creative use of technologies.
Through different activities, including theoretical meetings, an urban tour and a community lunch, the participants reflected on existing monuments and their symbolism from a critical perspective, in order to provoke the participants to create their own piece and to work collectively on an artistic proposal related to these constructions.
The participants shared some of their reflections and proposals that will be part of an audiovisual piece of the compendium of contents and memories of the laboratory. There will also be a sample of results in the corridor on the second floor of the Bogotá Planetarium.
All the works were curated by Julia Buenaventura, a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo - USP in Brazil and a master's degree in History, Criticism and Theory of Art and Architecture from the National University of Colombia. She did her postdoctoral research at the School of Communications and Arts of the ECA-USP São Paulo, Brazil where she was a professor in the postgraduate area. She is a professor at the University of Los Andes and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She is also a contributor to ArtNexus magazine - USA and Latin America - and the Forum Permanente website, Brazil. He has written the books Dust you are: the passage of time and In the first person: six passages about Feliza Bursztyn.
The exhibition can be visited on the second floor of the Bogotá Planetarium and is free to enter.
