The Ministry of Health reported that, starting this Thursday, April 7, Colombians who want to travel to the European Union (EU) will have a new digital vaccination certificate appropriate to the regulations of that political community so that they can enter the 27 countries that make it up.
As explained by the head of the Ministry's Information and Communication Technologies (OTIC) Offices, Constanza Engativá, for two months they worked together with the entity's International Cooperation Unit and with European Union technicians so that the technology used in the Colombian digital certificate could be validated in the EU.
The new certificate for Colombians traveling to the European Union will be read on a specific validator used by the 27 countries that make up that geopolitical community, through which the validity of the document will be confirmed.
Likewise, from now on, Colombia will have the European Union's reading system, so that vaccination certificates for European travellers arriving in the national territory can also be validated.
In total, the 27 countries that make up the European Union, to which Colombians will be able to enter with the new digital vaccination certificate, are: Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Estonia, Greece, Malta, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Cyprus, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania and Slovenia.
With the issuance of the new digital vaccination certificate, three such documents would already exist in Colombia: “The digital certificate for people who have been vaccinated in Colombia; the digital certificate of Colombians or residents of Colombia who were vaccinated abroad; and the digital certificate for people who were vaccinated abroad; were vaccinated in Colombia and require travel to the European Union or abroad”, concluded the head of the OICT of the Ministry of Health.
1. You must enter the 'My Vaccina' web portal https://mivacuna.sispro.gov.co/mivacuna, and select the 'I am Colombian or resident in Colombia' button.
2. There you will see a 'Terms of Use' box, in which you must click on the option 'I agree'.
3. The page will redirect you to a form where you must enter your document type, identification number and the date of issue of the document. Once you have completed all the requested information, you will need to click on the option 'Login'.
4. Once you go to the next page, you will find the three types of digital vaccination certificate that you can download. In this case, if you are traveling to the European Union or abroad, you must select the one entitled 'My digital certificate of international vaccination' and click on the download code.
5. Your international digital vaccination certificate will be downloaded automatically with your name and date of birth, the type of biological you were injected with, the number of doses you received, where you were immunized, and the QR code that you must show when you arrive in your destination country to verify the validity of the information.
