On April 5, a curfew was decreed throughout metropolitan Lima and Callao due to the constant threats of looting and unrest following the stoppage of carriers. On the news, Congressman from Peru Libre, Alex Paredes, defended the measure, stating that it will help maintain security in these regions.
In a very early communication at 3:00am with Canal N., the legislator defended President Pedro Castillo's decision to keep all citizens of these two regions in their homes during April 5. To this end, the congressman mentioned the reminder given by the program host that this date marked the 30th anniversary of Alberto Fujimori's coup d'état, and pointed out that the curfew was princess, it was especially important, since this date could exacerbate some reactions of the population.

“I don't see it as questionable, because of this violent situation that was experienced yesterday. I mean, that's no longer a protest. The way people enter to destroy private property, businesses, shops, etc. That's not a protest. What is the fault of the people who own their businesses?” , he defended.
The congressman was disappointed that the 8 million people living in Lima and Callao would be to blame, to which he replied that “later the rest of the people would demand this issue of security.”

The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, reported that after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, it was decreed to declare the province of Lima and Callao in emergency, as well as a curfew for today, Tuesday, April 5, from 2:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. This was reported minutes before the start of Tuesday.
“Faced with the acts of violence that some groups have wanted to create through the blockade at the Lima and Callao accesses, and in order to restore peace and internal order, the Council of Ministers decreed a state of emergency suspending the constitutional rights relating to freedom and personal security, the inviolability of domicile and freedom of assembly in the province of Lima and Callao,” he said.
According to the decree in El Peruno, it will not be possible to buy in warehouses, delivery will be prohibited and all shopping centers, restaurants and shops will not be able to to attend until the end of the curfew.
The transfer of persons working in: health services, medicines, continuity of water, sanitation, electricity, gas, fuel, telecommunications and related activities, cleaning and collection of solid waste, funeral services, transportation of cargo and goods and activities is permitted related.
In addition, attention will also be allowed in pharmacies and pharmacies, in addition to the normal functioning of print, radio or television personnel, provided that they carry their personal work pass, their respective journalistic credential and their National Identity Document for identification purposes. Authorization is also extensive for mobile units that transport them for the fulfillment of their function.
Likewise, it is stated that “persons who require urgent or emergency medical attention because they are at serious risk to their life or health are allowed to travel by private vehicle or pedestrian vehicle, as well as, to purchase medicines. Workers in the public and private sectors perform only remote work, in accordance with the relevant regulations.”
On the other hand, it is important to specify that a compulsory work pass will not be required to use a private vehicle or transit during curfew hours to go to their workplace, the citizen must carry: DNI and work card.
