Since last week, Francia Márquez, vice-presidential candidate for the Historical Pact, has been denouncing death threats from the self-described Black Eagles and this Monday again issued a new alert about an intimidating pamphlet against her, which she published on her social networks.
“This is the third threat I have received in less than a month, they also threatened our vice-presidential formula of Gustavo Petro. They want to impose terror on us in Colombia. We demand guarantees for our political exercise!” , he wrote on Twitter.
Along with her, elected candidates Alirio Uribe, Gloria Flórez, Ariel Ávila and Jahel Quiroga; current congressmen María José Pizarro, Iván Cepeda, Gustavo Bolivar, Victoria Sandino, Carlos Antonio Lozada; and other personalities such as Rodrigo Londoño (Timochenko), Hollman Morris, members of the First Lines, were also threatened. others.
“We have been warning him and the time has come for Colombia as a whole to realize that the Chavista drug guerrilla is about to come to power at the head of alias el cacas and with whom we have said he is an ELN militant, the black hijueputa of Francia Márquez,” says the poster of the Black Eagles of the Capital Block, which he shared on his networks social the environmental leader.
This type of action has been recurrent, as Márquez has been denouncing the lack of guarantees to be able to engage in politics and campaign, so he has asked President Iván Duque for protection for the political exercise and the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the threats.
“Our call is for all sectors that believe in democratic security to unite and prevent communism from returning to Colombia in the new Venezuela, we call on all good Colombians to vote against international expansion sponsored by Cuba and Venezuela. On our part, we will fight to avoid that catastrophe for the country and we announce that this April will not be the celebration of M-19 but will be the death of those of the M-19 and of all those who claim to be democrats, social leaders, human rights defenders, but who are only guerrillas crouching in legality, who will be our target until that we fulfill our mission and exterminate them like rats that do not let themselves be,” the Black Eagles of the Capital Bloc state in the pamphlet.
It should be recalled that previously, Márquez stated that he has already had problems with his security scheme on previous occasions. “I hope that the Attorney General's Office will be able to investigate these facts. I hope impunity won't win this time,” he said in a trill.
“The safety of Francia Márquez is guaranteed. It has a robust protection scheme, for the whole country, by UNP Colombia. She and all the candidates for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the Republic receive protection from this government that defends democracy,” said Alfonso Campo Martínez, director of the National Protection Unit (UNP), when the first two threats were made known.
He added at the time that “following the instructions of President Iván Duque, we have been working with MinInterior since #PlanAgora || and #PlanDemocracia to extend the entire institutional scope and always put it at the service of democratic guarantees. This is how we fight the violent.”
It is noteworthy that Francia Márquez settled this Monday in Medellín, which will host her campaign for the Vice-Presidency at the request of Gustavo Petro, in a territory where surveys show that the historically conservative region will support Federico Gutiérrez, the candidate of the Team for Colombia who is shown so far as the strongest rival of the Historical Pact proposal.
