“Pedro Castillo is a lying president”, the furious claim of a farmer who calls the 'second agrarian reform' a hoax

The livestock and agricultural producer Fernando Bravo spoke about the social conflict that has aroused in the center and south of the country due to the rise in the price of fertilizers and fuels. He pointed out that President Pedro Castillo deceived them with his announcement of the 'second agrarian reform', since the situation of the farmers would not have improved.

“We have a president who has lied to all the producers. He's a lying president, who doesn't keep his word. We know that this stoppage if we do not defend now with the entire road blocked, because it has already reached the extreme. He hasn't complied. This agrarian reform has been a complete lie since it began. They began to lie with the second agrarian reform. We were fooled by the producers. We thought he, a country man, would think like us,” Bravo told RPP Noticias.

Bravo explained that the problem for them lies in the rise in the cost of living. It is recalled that the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) already warned that in March, Metropolitan Lima had the highest inflation in 26 years. The same thing would have been replicated and deepened in other regions. “Gasoline is impossible. We mobilized to carry our products, with gasoline,” said the farmer.

In addition, the livestock leader expressed his rejection of President Pedro Castillo's statements, when he said that the people behind the stoppage of transporters and farmers were “malicious and paid” leaders.

“It has disrespected the leaders, that we are 'coimeable', 'that we receive money'. I have made my guild respected,” he said, and said that these kinds of problems are solved “with facts.”

Javier Corrales, president of the Peruvian Transport Association, revealed that the Ministers of Transport and Communications, Nicolás Bustamante, and the Minister of Energy and Mines, Carlos Palacios, told him that “the president has another agenda, you have to travel to Lima.”

He said that he rebuked them for the president's absence. Thus, they were asked to travel to Lima to dialogue directly with the Government, so that they could lay down their measure of force.

“Specifically, they asked us to go to Lima to have a dialogue directly with the Government, in view of the facts that the president had made, in reference to the fact that some leaders would have received money and in that we too have expressed our discomfort because we cannot speak that way of a leadership sector,” he said in The Air Rotary of RPP Noticias.

“They told us that they have an agenda, what's more, we had a debate on the subject there, but we think of our population as leaders, we are responsible. Sometimes one cannot also put oneself in a position of a firm position. We agreed, but for that we are going to consult our bases, we stay and do not travel, we continue with the mobilization”, he added.

DELEGATION OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS ARRIVED IN HUANCAYO

This morning, Saturday, 2 April, a second delegation of the Council of Ministers arrived at Junín to participate in the dialogue table with the demonstrators. These are the Ministers of Justice, Feliz Chero; of Energy and Mines, Carlos Palacios; of Economy, Carlos Graham; of the Interior, Alfonso Chávarry; and of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Oscar Zea. In addition, they are also accompanied by the deputy minister of the PCM, Jesús Quispe, some congressmen and Cardinal Pedro Barreto.

On April 1, the first delegation arrived, after 8:00pm, and consisted of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez Palomino, along with the Minister of Culture, Alejandro Salas, and the Deputy Minister of Transport, Victor Raul Alejos. They were also accompanied by Congressman Silvana Robles, from the Peru-Libre bench.
