
With crystal clear waters and beautiful panoramic views, the Pozas Azules de Atzala, located 30 minutes from the Magical Town of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero, are the ideal place to enjoy a good weekend or to take a few days during the Easter holidays.
The good news is that you can get to this wonderful place without spending a lot of money. Below we will tell you more details about this tourist destination, and how to get there from Mexico City.
Las Pozas Azules is the recommended place to enjoy nature. It is an amazing water park that manages to fall in love with its visitors, due to the turquoise color offered by its waters.
There are seven pools surrounded by impressive waterfalls and rocky sections worth admiring and according to the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) “it is a hidden but well-known destination”.

How to get there?
*By car.- This is the first option to get to know the pool area from Mexico City. The good news is that you only have to take 4 booths to get to Taxco.
First of all, you must take the Autopista del Sol (Cuernavaca-Acapulco) until the deviation that takes you to Taxco.
The booths and costs are:
-Tepetlixpa: 54 pesos.
-Alpuyeca: 77 pesos.
-Zacapalco: 37 pesos.
-Taxco: 17 pesos.
This means that the one-way toll payment is 186 pesos. It must be remembered that the price of gasoline must be added to this expense, but it will depend on the car you use. For example, if you have a 4-cylinder vehicle, the one-way cost to get there is at least 250 pesos one way, and without counting what you spend to travel within the Magic Town of Taxco.
What is the cost of access to the pools of Atzala?
The entrance fee is 100 pesos per person with free time. There are places to eat inside and outside, but it is advisable to bring your own food.

In addition, they have all the security measures and sanitation mechanism when entering.
To rest in Taxco there is also a wide variety of hotels ranging from the most economical ones with costs from 600 pesos to luxury hotels up to more than 1,500 per person, that will also depend on each visitor.
This charming Magic Town has been popular for its cobbled streets and alleys amid colonial temples, parks, squares and picturesque mansions.
It is even one of the most visited sites during Holy Week, as impressive processions are held on its roads, achieving one of the most recognized pagan-liturgical celebrations in Mexico.
Other attractions of this picturesque town are: the Cacahuamilpa Caves, the Sanctuary of the Lord of Santa Veracruz, the Casa de las Lágrimas Museum, the Cacalotenango Waterfall, among others.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, from Cuernavaca it is possible to reach Taxco by federal highway number 95, at a distance of 106 km. Federal highway number 95 communicates with Iguala and Chilpancingo at 33 km and 138 km respectively; as well as with Acapulco at 275 km along the same road.
