The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) informed through its official channels that the yellow alert for the forecast of high temperatures was activated during the afternoon of next Wednesday, March 30 in nine mayors of the capital, in which temperatures are expected to vary between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Thus, the forecast is that the following mayors will have high temperatures during Wednesday afternoon: Alvaro Obregón, Azcapotzalco, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztapalapa, Miguel Hidalgo, Tlahuac and Xochimilco.
For their part, the mayors for which temperatures of 31 to 33 degrees Celsius are considered and that received orange alert for March 30 are Cuauhtémoc, the Venustiano Carranza mayor's office and Iztacalco, east of Mexico City (CDMX).

Given these forecasts, the local agency issued a series of recommendations for citizens to avoid heat stroke, including using sunscreen, wearing light-colored clothing, wearing sunglasses, hats or caps, not being exposed to the sun for long periods and avoiding eating food on the road public, because food is easily spoiled by the heat.
Likewise, Civil Protection and the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAME), announced that during the afternoon of March 29 the weather was very hot and the air quality was classified as “very bad”, so phase 1 of atmospheric environmental contingency by ozone was activated, for which reason in CDMX and in the State of Mexico ( Edomex) will apply the Double Today No Circulation program.
Through a statement, CAME said that, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, maximum ozone concentrations of 162 ppb and 156 ppb were recorded at the Santa Fe and Merced monitoring stations, located in the Cuajimalpa and Cuauhtémoc mayors of Mexico City.

This is due to the influence of a high-pressure system on the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM), which strengthened during the day, increasing atmospheric stability, the presence of weak wind and the incidence of intense solar radiation that favored the formation of ozone combined with the transport of pollutants to the southwestern part of the Valley of Mexico.
In this way, he indicated that by Wednesday, March 30, the circulation of some vehicles in the capital and the State of Mexico (Edomex) must be suspended from 05:00 to 22:00 hours. In this regard, he specified that some cars or motor vehicles that will not be able to transit in both states, including private vehicles with verification hologram 2, as well as private use vehicles with type 1 verification hologram whose last numeric digit is 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 0.
Owing to the high concentrations of ozone, the Commission recommended that the general population contribute to reducing emissions and continuing to work remotely in order to reduce travel and travel, avoid the use of flavourings or products containing solvents, avoid filling up gasoline after 18:00 hours, as well as to check and repair leaks in domestic gas installations.
