
The University Council of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) approved the creation of the Nursing Doctoral Curriculum and the corresponding degree. This, after, by unanimous decision, the modification of the Master's Program in Nursing by Master's and Doctorate Program in Nursing was decreed.
The objective of this study is to train researchers of the highest level, who develop original studies with broad theoretical-conceptual mastery and methodological rigor to promote the advancement of knowledge in nursing.
The Curriculum will be taught in face-to-face mode with a duration of eight semesters for full-time students, or up to 10 semesters for those who opt for part-time. In addition, the Institution revealed that it is organized under a flexible and comprehensive tutoring system (student-tutor work plan).
In addition, the student community will be able to select academic activities with complementary value, carry out research stays in higher education and health institutions, among others.
The academic entities that will participate in the implementation of the new PhD will be the National School of Nursing and Obstetrics (ENEO); the Faculties of Higher Studies (FES) ) Zaragoza and Iztacala; and the Institute for Anthropological Research.

Meanwhile, the modification of the Master's Curriculum will seek to meet current needs, since a global commitment has been made to strengthen this scientific discipline, which has a triple impact: improving the response to the health needs of individuals, families and communities; promoting equity in gender and contribute to economic growth.
In this sense, three fields of knowledge will be integrated: Theory in Nursing; Nursing and Health Sciences; Nursing and Socio-Humanistic Sciences.
In the preparation of the Curriculum, the Faculty of Medicine, the Children's Hospital of Mexico and the National Institutes of Cardiology; Neurology and Neurosurgery; Nutrition; and Rehabilitation.

Tourism and Sustainable Development, the new UNAM bachelor's degree
On January 16, the Maxima Casa de Estudios inaugurated the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Sustainable Development, the number 131 taught by the educational institution and the only one in the country that combines both areas.
The course will be taught at the facilities of the National School of Higher Studies (ENES) Unidad León, in Guanajuato from August 2022 with a first generation of 30 students, who will be able to enter through a regulated pass or national selection exam.
It will last 10 semesters (5 years), of which the fifth and tenth semesters will be used for fieldwork with the support of university extension in San Miguel de Allende or with the possibility of being carried out at the local, regional, national and international levels.
The objective of the course will be to train professionals capable of exercising tourism with an impact on economic and social growth and on caring for the environment; this, through knowledge multidisciplinary in the social, economic, environmental and sustainability areas.
