
The deadline for filing the tax return is a few days away from the end and one of the benefits in this process is to request a balance in favor. However, there are certain circumstances why it does not apply, and below we will reveal what they are.
It should be remembered that the annual return is used to record income from your salary, your deductions, perform the calculation of the annual tax, file in zeros, pay or request a balance in favor , that is, a cashback.
According to the Tax Administration Service (SAT), the deadline for legal entities (companies), will be until March 31. While for individuals it will be until April 30.

What are the reasons why the SAT can reject the balance in favor?
1.- If a person is reported as not located in their home. In this case, you must request a verification of address on the official portal of the tax authority.
2.- If the balance in favor is greater than 150 thousand pesos.
3.- If you have income from property or business in joint ownership, inheritance or marital partnership, during your fiscal year.
4.- If the taxpayer was suspended from the Federal Register of Taxpayers, or the use of stamp certificates and digital signatures is stopped.
In this regard, natural persons may apply for tax refunds within five years of the date on which they are obliged to file the return, or the payment of the undue has been made.

How to file the tax refund?

*Fill in the requested data in the electronic format.
*Enter the files with the scanned procedure documents.
*Sign and send the procedure with your electronic signature.
*Save your acknowledgment of receipt.
For its part, the process to file the tax return can be done by taxpayers through an internet platform. According to the SAT, they will need to follow some steps.
Who should file the annual return?
*Workers who charge for fees, technology platforms, business activities, among others.
*Those who have received annual income greater than 400 thousand pesos.
* Those who have income from two employers, even if they are not more than 400 thousand pesos.
*When a person has received any income from liquidation, workers' compensation, pension or retirement.
*Landlords, that is, who collect rent on some properties.
*Those who have won any prize. For example, like the one in the Lottery.
*If wages come from abroad or from persons not obliged to withhold.
It will also be important to remember that one of the benefits when making the return is to apply a series of deductions, such as interest payments on a housing loan. This is the tax deduction that can be achieved for the interest that is disbursed on a home finance. Payments of this type will be considered as long as they have been made during 2021.
