Bilal, Romane, Sam and Victor are four best friends who share endless adventures together, but everything changes when a mysterious and inexplicable event separates them. Teens are sent to different dimensions and will begin a complex search for answers to understand what happened that night and how they could return to their old lives. Parallel Universes, as this mix of Dark and Stranger Things is called, has already premiered on Disney+.
“In a split second, the universe discards its rules and reorganizes everything: the present, the future and the multiverses merge, separating teenagers and sending them to parallel worlds, in different time frames. They try to understand what has happened and strive to meet again and turn back time, to return to the world 'in which they used to live'. Facing their potential destinies will give them the opportunity to grow up and see things differently, as their parents will or as Lieutenant Retz will do, who will have to face an investigation for the first time,” says the official synopsis.

One of the first French titles to arrive at Disney+
Created by Quoc Dang Tran, the new fantasy and mystery fiction becomes one of the first French productions to land on the streaming platform and appeals to interdimensional and temporal travel to engage the audience. “The science fiction genre is relatively rare in French series, so this new production will be an interesting addition to the series currently available on the service,” emphasized Pauline Dauvin, representative of The Walt Disney Company in France.
The first season of Parallel Universes consists of a total of six episodes of 40 minutes each, these were written by Dang Tran and Anastasia Heinzl Au-delà. The direction fell to Benjamin Rocher and Jean-Batiste Saurel. The cast consists of Thomas Chomel, Omar Mebrouk, Jules Houplain, Jade Pedri, Naidra Ayadi, Guillaume Labbé, Gil Alma, Elise Diamant, Dimitri Storoge, Agnès Miguras, Maxime Bergeron, Victoria Eber and Timote Rigault.

“We wanted to tell a fantastic story about teenagers, at an age when one abandons innocence and the bonds of friendship are very strong,” said the creator of this innovative proposal for Disney+. “Special effects and spectacular elements were less important to us than emotions and intimacy. The Disney teams understood us perfectly and enthusiastically accompanied us throughout the project.”
Parallel Universes addresses friendship in adolescence and the strength of those bonds - in many cases - for the rest of life. All these experiences about youthful love, important life decisions and the relationship with the family are framed by a complicated plot involving parallel universes and temporal paradoxes.

All episodes are available on Disney+ from March 23.
