Oscar Iván Zuluaga's resignation as presidential candidate led the Democratic Center to take a new course in the presidential elections to be held in May.
As some of its members have announced at different times, the party will seek to support a candidate with whom political agreements can be reached thinking about the presidential agenda that the new Colombian leader will have.
At the table, names such as Federico Gutiérrez, former mayor of Medellín and Sergio Fajardo have been put on the table, although certainly no aid has been made official for either of the two candidates and everything remains in a poll carried out by the political group.
Of course, Petro's name does not appear on the list, even the slogan is, according to Valencia: “We will vote against Petro”, while he said in an interview with La FM: “We have been having meetings with the candidates to have a government where we all have ideological differences, but that we can reach agreements”.
He also let it be known, referring to Gutiérrez that possible support for Antioquia, second in the intention to vote with 19% according to the most recent poll hired by different Colombian media outlets, “everything will depend on 'Fico' taking our visions into account”.

The path for the presidency of Colombia continues to be built between candidates who have recently announced their vice-presidential formulas such as Gustavo Petro with Francia Márquez in search of winning in the first round or Ingrid Betancourt who played the key with Colonel (r) José Luis Esparza even though he is in the background of voting intentions with 2%.
What she seeks, in the words of Senator Paloma Valencia, is to be able to build a strong front in order to win the presidential elections with a candidate who can adapt to her party's thinking, but who is also the antithesis of populist proposals.
The debates to be able to present the ideas and proposals will soon be held in order to publicize the imagination of the country that each of the candidates has and their work teams. Meanwhile, the controversy over the counting and the denied recount of votes remain topics of conversation and debate, as it must be remembered that the National Registrar's Office still has the arduous task of carrying out the first round and the probable second round.
Given this and given what has aroused after the legislative elections, everyone's eyes will be aware of how all the electoral dynamics are handled and the following to the democratic act that citizens represent voting to avoid different types of fraud.
Especially the alternative sectors, which in the end have been the ones that have been most attentive to the scrutiny, since many of their votes were not counted from the beginning for different reasons.
