The vice-coordinator of the National Action Party (PAN) bench in the Senate of the Republic, Kenya López Rabadán, visited the premises of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) and reported irregularities that would allegedly put the safety of users at risk.
Through her official Twitter account, the legislator said that the haste of the construction of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's (AMLO) megaproject will have a “huge cost” for the public treasury.
He also denounced that there were no tenders in accordance with the law, so he pointed out that the air hub cannot be seen as a world-class one, because its reality is far from major airports around the world.
His expedition through the Santa Lucia facilities were part of his weekly segment on the Congress Channel titled La Contramañanera, in which he replicates some of the positions expressed by the Mexican president during his press conferences at the National Palace.
So this Tuesday, March 22, the legislator for Mexico City replied the words of Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI) and detailed that out of one thousand 233 revised contracts, 78 per cent were granted by restricted invitation, while the remaining 22 per cent were awarded.
And it is that on March 21, the day of the inauguration, the organization denounced that at least 10 companies of recent creation were awarded contracts to participate in the project of up to 1,572 million pesos.
In addition, they noted that one of the suppliers, allegedly linked to a “shell company” accused of laundering money in Venezuela, was responsible for selling steel for a cost of 184 million pesos.

However, the criticism was not only from López Rabadán, but also by the coordinator of the PAN Senators, Julen Rementería del Puerto, who indicated that the bill will not solve or solve any problems.
Through a press release, the legislator for the state of Veracruz pointed out that the work “left much to be desired”, because it was seen as a necessary project for the country's progress, but indicated that the result was not what was promised.

Like his colleague, the Veracruz politician indicated that the construction represented a cost overrun, in addition to the fact that it was carried out “on steam” and will not help to resolve the air traffic situation in the Valley of Mexico, mainly in the country's capital.
At the same time, he questioned the expense of the cancellation of Texcoco Airport in 2019, which is estimated, according to the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF), at 331,996.5 million pesos.
Finally, the panista said that haste takes life, because another sign of the urgency is that in the construction of the road accesses “6 workers have died and 22 others have been injured”.
