For a few years now, Eiza Gonzalez has gained international presence thanks to her artistic talent which has led her to share credits with great actors such as Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Kevin Spacey and recently with Jake Gyllenhaal in Ambulance. However, few know that she began her career in Mexican soap operas.
This was recalled by Sofía Escobosa during her visit to Faisy Nights, who also told some anecdotes that she lived with the performer during her preparation at the Center for Art Education (CEA). In the middle of the talk, the host of Tell Me Now! she confessed that when she was looking for an opportunity to make her television debut as an actress, she competed with Eiza for a role in a melodrama.
“Tell us about that time you were in a semifinal to stay as the antagonist of that novel, who was it who got that role? ”, asked Faisy. “Eiza González,” the presenter replied, sparking some comments about the possibility that she would have been the one who would be triumphing abroad.

After conducting several tests, the one who was chosen to give life to the character was the actress of Baby: the apprentice of crime. Sofía Escobosa did not want to delve into what this project was, however, it could be Gabriela Ortega in Murderer Women, a series that hit the small screen approximately 14 years ago and since the last days of this month of March will be re-broadcast.
Other projects Eiza Gonzalez did before she made her way into Hollywood were Dream with Me, Lola, Once Upon a Time and True Love, a remake of Love in Custody starring Erika Buenfil, Eduardo Yáñez, Sebastián Rulli and Marjorie de Sousa. In this context, Sofía Escobosa recalled that her former partner always thought about succeeding and was preparing at all times.
“My dear Eiza, who sent her a lot of kisses, was my partner in the three years at CEA [...] we were in the first year of CEA and I remember perfectly that in the bathrooms she looked in the mirror and started practicing English and she always knew she was going to be in Hollywood and look where she is,” she said.
