María del Carmen Alva: “Regrettable appointments. Where does the Executive, the President, find his ministers?”

María del Carmen Alva, president of the congress, was against the nominations of the current ministers in the Agrarian Development and Irrigation portfolio , as well as that of Justice and Human Rights.

The parliamentarian criticized the actions of the executive branch, as well as Pedro Castillo's decisions, since she says she does not know “where do they find these ministers?”

“Sorry about the appointments, we have always said it, I don't know the truth the executive, the president, where he finds his ministers. With fifty ministers in 8 months, I think the Executive is still not learning the lesson,” he replied to the press.

In addition to this, María del Carmen Alva regretted this appointment, especially when asked about Oscar Zea, Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, the latter allegedly involved in a murder case that occurred in 2005.

On the other hand, she was consulted on Francisco Sagasti's proposal to shorten the period of governance of both the president and the congress.

“Permanent changes do not help the country's stability,” and he considered that there was a “click” between Sagasti Hochhausler's proposal and the one commented by Prime Minister Aníbal Torres, following President Pedro Castillo's speech to Congress on January 15.

“It looks a lot like the initiative of Prime Minister Aníbal Torres, of the bill that wanted to advance elections, I think they are in combination or have 'clicked' between what they think so we'll see. Any such issue has to go through Congress,” he explained.

HE WELCOMED CASTILLO GOING TO CONGRESS ON MARCH 28.

Faced with the questions asked by the press, María del Carmen was in favor of President Pedro Castillo's willingness to go this March 28 to the Congress of the Republic where the motion of censure against him will be debated.

“It is up to go and resolve all the questions, the 20 doubts that are in that motion,” he said.

As you remember, this last Monday, Pedro Castillo was asked about whether or not he will go to the congress, given this the president pointed out that “he will go where they call him” , stating that he will be present that day for the debate on that motion.

“You know how things work, while I talk about tracks, paths, water, drainage, health care, others ask us if I am going to Congress: I have to go to where I am summoned, if I am summoned at the tip of the hill, at the tip of the hill I will go, if they summon me to any corner of the country, I have to go, because I have not come to steal a penny to this country and the people need us to be ordained,” he said during the restart of a school in San Juan de Lurigancho.

Following this response, he immediately returned to parents outside the school and assured them that he would be vigilant of the education of their children and the welfare of the population.

“Dear neighbors in this Peru, there is much to do, and those of us who have good will, those who come from below, those who have eaten dust, those who have suffered hunger, thirst, know how the country is doing, but there is a certain sector, a tiny sector, that money that should be used to give children, [use it] to make it scream citizen 'corrupt, corrupt',” he said.
