On the afternoon of this Monday, March 21, the authorities of Barrancabermeja, in Santander, reported the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman, inside the trunk of a private vehicle in the Simón Bolívar neighborhood. According to the police, the victim's body was found dismembered.
The 35-year-old victim, identified as Johana Paola Chavez Guzmán, was found in the vehicle around 4:40 this Monday afternoon, after authorities received a warning call via emergency line 123.
Indeed, the senior official confirmed that, after the uniformed men arrived at the scene, and had interviewed the inhabitants of the sector, they opened the trunk of the vehicle to find the dismembered body of the 35-year-old woman.
According to Colonel Sánchez, the victim's mother reported that, since last Friday, March 18, she did not know her daughter's whereabouts, although she believed she was with her romantic partner. For this reason, the commander of the Magdalena Medio Police indicated that the events could be a crime of passion.
For her part, the director of the Citizen Observatory on Feminicide, Ginna Pineda, rejected the facts and asked for justice on behalf of Johana Paola Chávez, who, according to the newspaper Vanguardia, left a 12-year-old daughter.
“In Santander, femicides continue, characterized by the immense cruelty and dehumanization of the victims. The climate of impunity is also maintained. We demand justice for Johanna and for all victims of femicide!” , Pineda wrote through his Twitter account.

At the time, the National Police, together with a team from the Attorney General's Office, had all its technical and human capacities to clarify the facts and find the person responsible for them in the shortest possible time, as was known to the magazine Semana.
“We invite the community that has information, truthful and timely, to allow the investigation to be guided and to immediately contact the hotline 123, cell phone number 314 356 1761 or email fuentes@dipol.gov.co where we guarantee the absolute reservation of whoever provides this information to us” , the commander of the Magdalena Medio Police said to the same media outlet.
The crime of Johana Paola Chavez was recorded a week after a trans woman, identified as Andrea Rozo Rolón, 29 years old, was found lifeless inside her beauty salon located in downtown Bucaramanga (Santander).
According to authorities, the woman, also known as 'La Leone', was found inside the establishment with various signs of torture as well as with blunt stab wounds at the height of her neck, which caused her death.
Authorities are investigating whether Andrea Rozo's death would be related to a crime of passion or whether it would be a theft. At the moment, the authorities are trying to identify the aggressors with the help of the security cameras in the place.
