This Sunday, CSKA Moscow hosted Rubin Kazan for matchday 22 of the Russian League. The locals took the victory after leaving the score 6-1. For his part, Colombian Jorge Carrascal scored his first goal for the Russian team.
Carrascal, who arrived on loan in February, played his first duel as a starter. In the 26th minute, the carthagenian steering wheel put the fourth goal for his team, which showed superiority against Rubin Kazan.
This score came after Carrascal started the play, and after a few touches and a bad rejection from a rival defender, the midfielder took the ball, shot the goalkeeper's front post and thus scored his first goal in Russian football.
The '8′ of the Russian squad was replaced in the 80th minute by the Nigerian Chidera Ejuke to close the match. With this match, it is the fifth official match played by Jorge Carrascal wearing the CSKA Moscow shirt. In addition to being his first goal, it is the first time he has participated in a scoring, since he had not been able to assist a teammate either.
After several days where Ukraine has suffered an invasion by the Russian government, FIFA announced that those players who are in the Russian League will be left as free players in order to be signed by teams from other countries and thus have the opportunity to leave it. This proposal by that entity will also apply to athletes who are in Ukraine.
In the case of Colombians, there are three players who are playing in Russian teams. Wilmar Barrios, plays for Zenit, Jhon Córdoba in Krasnodar and Jorge Carrascal at CSKA Moscow, the latter, the most recent to arrive in this country.
Now, according to TNT Sports, after the situation in this country there would be the possibility that the Colombian could terminate the contract with the club of the Russian capital and return to River Plate in a short term.
In addition, it should be borne in mind that if the situation worsens and the safety of the players is not guaranteed, Carrascal is likely to leave Russia and return to play in the Argentine league to get away from the conflict between these two countries.
“Carrascal is not considering the chance of leaving Russia to return to River today,” the Colombian representative announced to TyC Sports. So their future will depend on how the war continues.
