Organizers of Gallerias Plaza de las Estrellas released a statement in which they apologize for promoting an event in which Eleazar Gómez would be recognized and announced the cancellation of it.
As every week, Galerías Plaza de las Estrellas had announced that Eleazar Gómez would be given a Luminary Presea, recognition given to some stars in tribute to their artistic projects. However, the event was canceled hours before it took place.
Through a statement published on the Plaza's social networks, it was announced that the event was canceled and they apologized for the recognition that he would give to Gómez, as netizens questioned the fact that the actor was awarded after being released from prison, where he was deprived of his freedom for three months for hit his then-girlfriend, Tefi Valenzuela.
The organizers also apologized for what caused the event to deliver the Luminaria Presea to Eleazar and closed the message with a hashtag in support of women.
“We apologize to all those who may have been offended by this reason (...) #MujeresSonEstrellas”, concludes the statement.
And it is that on March 16, when it was announced that histrion would receive an award from Plaza de las Estrellas, his name became a trend on social networks, as netizens questioned whether he received awards in Women's Month after he had beaten and tried to strangle Stephanie Valenzuela.

It is not the first time that Eleazar Gómez has been awarded, because in December 2015 the actor received recognition for his artistic career given by the Fashion Cocktail. Also last January he received another one from Latinos del Mundo VIP.
On March 8, International Women's Day, the actor was also criticized on social networks after sharing an image with which he supported women, netizens criticized him and they remembered their past in prison.
The image that Eleazar posted on her Instagram account was completely purple, a color that is used this day as a symbol of women's struggle. At the bottom of the photo, the histrion only put a purple heart.
Netizens did not take long to react to this act by Gómez and criticized him for his background, since in November 2020 he was prosecuted for the crime of equated family violence after having assaulted Tefi Valenzuela. A large part of the user comments asked the actor to be consistent and not to make such posts.
Also, some Instagram users pointed out that the star of Dare to dream was deleting comments in which they criticized him. Then, after a few hours after Eleazar shared the image, she prevented comments from being written on her post.
