
The Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) recorded a 1.78% gain on Thursday in its main indicator, reaching 54,364.51 points, imposing a new all-time high.
The previous record was 53 thousand 973.27 points, which was reached on January 17.
“The Price and Quotes Index (CPI), the BMV's main indicator, reached a maximum of 54,447.03 points during the day but in the end it closed at 54,364.51 points, to record a new all-time high,” Banco Base analyst Alfredo Sandoval told Efe.

The specialist said that the companies with the highest earnings in the session were Grupo México (+5.92%) “in view of the increase in industrial metals prices”, in addition to Banorte (+5.53%) and Kimberly-Clark of Mexico (+5.43%).
On the contrary, Sandoval said, strong declines were seen in the stock prices of Volaris (-4.09%) and BanRegio (-2.88%).
With the advance of this day, the CPI accumulated a year-to-date return of 2.05%.
On the day, the Mexican peso appreciated 0.48% against the dollar, trading at 20.5 units per greenback on the interbank market.

The CPI closed at 54 thousand 364.51 units with a gain of 952.63 points and a positive variation of 1.78% compared to the previous session.
The volume traded on the market reached 241.6 million securities for an amount of 19,826 million pesos (about 967.1 million dollars).
Of the 690 companies listed on the day, 427 ended up with their prices rising, 234 had losses and 29 closed unchanged.
The securities with the greatest increase were household products marketer Grupo Famsa (GFAMSA A), with 6.78%, the mining company Grupo México (GMÉXICO) with 5.92% and the Banorte Financial Group (GFNORTE O), with 5.53%.

In contrast, the most varied securities were held by financial intermediary Credito Real (CREAL) with -6.85%, sports center operator Grupo Sport World (SPORT S) with -6.2% and Banco Santander (SAN) with -5.12%.
During the day, all sectors won, starting with materials (1.46%), followed by frequent consumption (1.19%), industrial (0.3%) and financial (0.16%).
