From Veracruz, where he held his morning conference this Friday, López Obrador assured that the adoption of this opinion - which was almost immediately published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) and comes into force from this day on - is a great democratic advance.
“I welcome the adoption of this reform, because it has to do with democracy. Democracy is not exhausted only by electing the ruler. Democracy is a way of life, there must be democracy in the family, at school, in the union... Of course democracy in order to have representatives in the powers, that is why it is important that representative democracy be strengthened by participatory democracy, so that we do not forget that the sovereign is the people... and the people put and the people take away”, he stressed.
