Russia's attack on the Ukrainian capital on Thursday caused the wreckage of a rocket that crashed into an apartment building in Kiev, killing one person and injuring three others, the emergency service reported.

The National Emergency Service of Ukraine said rescuers had evacuated 30 people from a 16-story building in the eastern part of Tanitsuki after being beaten at 5H02 (03H02 GMT).

The Russian army, who wanted to surround Kiev, launched an early morning attack on the capital for several days in a row.

AFP reporters found on the scene that the upper half of the Soviet-style building was damaged, and high-rise apartments were destroyed.

“In Kiev, the wreckage of the crashed rocket collapsed, causing buildings and fires,” said Facebook's emergency service.

“According to the preliminary report, 30 people were evacuated and three of them were injured. One person died,” he added.

AFP reporters observed that almost all windows in the building were broken and at least three nearby buildings were damaged.

The incident occurred within two hours after the city withdrew from the curfew imposed on Tuesday night, which the mayor of Kiev called “a dangerous moment.”

On Tuesday, a residential building in Kiev was attacked, killing four people and igniting an apartment.
