Even doing a sports practice, women are not spared the macho attacks in Colombia, as happened to the high-performance Bogota cyclist, Tatiana Orjuela, who was assaulted by a sexual harasser when she was finishing training on a highway in eastern Antioquia.
According to the local sports portal Mística Deportiva, the member of the Avinal-El Carmen de Viboral team was pedaling along the road that goes from the University of Antioquia to Rionegro when a depraved man chased her on a motorcycle, and assaulted her in front of her cycling teammates.
The athlete narrated in a video how she almost suffered an accident due to that violent sexual act against her, just as she was finishing her practice, a moment that made her vulnerable.
“I can't believe there are men who are like that. We were finishing our training when in a training session (...) I almost fell off my bike. I don't know if he doesn't have a mom, they don't have daughters, he doesn't have a grandmother, women they should respect. I am very indisposed by this kind of thing,” said Orjuela.
However, some of the witnesses of the event managed to write down the license plates of the car, which corresponds to RBU 03F, so that the community itself hopes that the aggressor of the athlete will be identified and prosecuted for his appalling action.
Tatiana Orjuela is a cyclist who has been standing out in this sport at the national level. She was part of the Bogotá women's cycling team that participated in the Vuelta a Guatemala that took place in April last year.
This year he began to be part of the Avinal-El Carmen de Viboral team and with him he already participated in his first competition, which was that of the National Road Championship, which was held in February.
