
The full title is “Distortion, denial and trivialization of the holocaust and other genocides, of recent memory and its use in hate speech: Recommendations and strategies to counter them”. It is a project that today, at 12 noon, is presented in the Libertador Hall of the San Martín Palace of the Argentine Foreign Ministry. Invites the Anne Frank Argentina Center for Latin America (CAFA).
It is a seminar aimed at journalists, communicators, justice personnel, educational curriculum planners and the security forces, which is completed with the production of 10 allusive videos, a manual and a guide for journalists and communicators with recommendations on how to avoid and combat hate speech, as well as trivialization holocaust and other genocides, and the creation of an information network to update information content.
The presentation will be led by the Undersecretary for Foreign Policy of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Claudio Javier Rozencwaig; the Secretary for Human Rights, Horacio Pietragalla Corti; Celeste Adamoli, director of Education in Human Rights, Gender and ESI of the Ministry of Education of the Nation; the human rights defender of the Public of the Nation, Miriam Lewin; the president of the National Telam News Agency, Bernarda Llorente;
Also, the deputy governor of the province of San Juan, Roberto Gattoni; the mayor of San Carlos de Bariloche, Gustavo Genusso; the executive director of the Holocaust Museum in Buenos Aires, Jonathan Karszenbaum and the director of the Anne Frank Argentina Center for Latin America, Héctor Shalom. During the meeting, the first seminar of the project will be presented, which will be held in Bariloche in April and will be held in San Juan, San Miguel de Tucumán and Asunción del Paraguay.
The project, which was carried out in Argentina within the framework of the International Alliance for the Memory of the Holocaust (IHRA), has the institutional support of the three ministries that make up the Argentine representation before IHRA by the National State, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship; the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, through the National Secretariat for Human Rights.
Argentina is the only country in Latin America to be a full member of the IHRA. The Laboratory for Studies on Democracy and Authoritarianism (LEDA) of the National University of San Martín, the Web Observatory of the Latin American Jewish Congress, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the DAIA Center for Social Studies (CES), are the civil society organizations linked to the project.
