(ATR)The group vying for Paris to bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics will travel to IOC headquarters on June 3.
Members of the committee for a potential Paris 2024 bid will meet with the IOC to review proposed plans for a Paris Summer Olympics.
The meeting reflects recommendations put forth through Olympic Agenda 2020 to enhance the efficiency and reduce the cost of bidding for the Games.
The announcement comes on the heels of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo's endorsement of the bid and precedes a vote by the Council of Paris on April 13.
The vote would mark the last hurdle on the city's road to officially announce its candidacy for 2024, according to Francs Jeux.
If Paris launches a bid for the 2024 Olympics, Normandy has said it would like to stage the sailing events for the Games.
In a letter made public on Wednesday, the presidents of Lower Normandy and Upper Normandy wrote a letter to International Rugby Board chairmanBernard Lapasset that made a case for the region.
PresidentLaurent Beauvais of Lower Normandy and President Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol of Upper Normandy both say Normandy would make an "exceptional showcase" for Olympic and Paralympic sailing in 2024.
Paris was unsuccessful in its bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics. The last Games hosted in France were the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
Boston, Hamburg and Rome have announced their candidacies for 2024. Baku, Budapest and India may bid as well.
Sky Sports says a feasibility study on staging the Games in Paris put the potential cost at approximately $6.7 billion USD.
The IOC will open the application process for 2024 on September 15. A host will be chosen at the 2017 IOC Session in Lima, Peru.
