(ATR) POCOG launches a contest to share its new Chinese-language website for 2018 Olympics.

On Monday, POCOG launched the 2018 Games' official Chinese website and started its officialaccount on Weibo - a leading Chinese social network.

The new website is the fourth for PyeongChang 2018. The organizing committee has websites in Korean, English, and French--the official language of the Olympic Movement.

PyeongChang 2018 director of communications Muchol Shin said in a statement on Monday that organizers hope to connect with China'sapproximately 650 million Internet users through the new Chinese website. China is also the world's largest marketplace.

"Through these new channels, we will provide a wealth of information about PyeongChang 2018, actively communicate with winter sports fans in China, and engage the interest and participation of Chinese public in 2018 Olympic Winter Games."

Perhaps another reason POCOG hopes to court Chinese Olympic fans is the 2022 Winter Olympics. In July, Beijing won the right to stage those Games.

On Oct. 31, POCOG willcall on Weibo users to share the launch of PyeongChang 2018's new web channels through their own Weibo accounts.

POCOG will award select users who "excel at promoting the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games" with gifts.
