Visitors from all over the world traveled to Nanjing, China this week for the fifth and final Coordination Commission on the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.
Olympic.org says the commission has deemed Nanjing "ready to welcome the world's best young athletes."
Attendees at the meeting included 104 young ambassadors, 197 chefs de mission representing the 204 National Olympic Committees taking part in the Games, and the IOC Coordination Commission.
Members of the Coordination Commission include chairman and IOC member Alexander Popov,Dagmawit Girmay Berhane, Andrés Botero Philipsbourne, Marisol Casado, Kee Nguan Goh, Lambis V. Nikolaou, andRita Subowo.
Alexander Popov told reporters that theteam in Nanjing is "sopassionate about creating the ultimate experience not only for the athletes, but also for young people from across China and overseas.
"The local organizing committee and Chinese Olympic Committee have done an excellent job and we congratulate them on their progress so far."
On March 27, the197 chefs de mission present in Nanjing attended a seminar on a range of aspects concerning the 2014 YOG.
The chef de mission seminar addressed an educational and cultural program for athletes that will run parallel to the Nanjing Games. Singapore initiated a similar program during the first YOG.
The chefs de mission discussed the the sporting calendars for rugby sevens, golf, archery and triathlon.
The organizing committee for the Nanjing YOG also revealed a proposal for a virtual torch relay, set to begin in April in Athens, Greece.
The 2014 Nanjing YOG are set to take place August 16 through August 28.
