(ATR) Michaël Noyelle has joined the IOC from the International Canoe Federation.
The 36-year-old from France replaces Sandrine Tonge in the IOC’s strategic communications department and reports to Emmanuelle Moreau, head of media relations.
Noyelle previously worked as multimedia manager at the International Canoe Federation from 2011 to 2016. His work there included defining communication strategies, handling media relations at ICF competitions and managing the ICF website.
Prior to that, he worked for the French canoe, ice sports and swimming federations. He covered the Sydney 2000 Olympics for the French NOC and the ministry of sports.
The IOC is still seeking to strengthen its communications department following the departure of Tonge in the summer after 10 years working in the communications department. Andrew Mitchell left earlier in the summer.
The IOC has relaunched its search to find a new head of strategic communications after a previous effort failed to deliver a suitable candidate.
