
(ATR) A delegation from the IOC, including President Thomas Bach, travels to New Zealand this week.They will conclude their visit on May 6.
The IOC’s trip to New Zealand comes on the heels of a stop in Vanuatu.
In March, the Vanuatu NOC was among four affected by devastating cyclones that hit the Oceania region.
At the time, the IOC and the Association of National Olympic Committees pledged $500,000 to help repair the headquarters of Vanuatu NOC and other NOCs in the region.
Bach is nearing the end of a long journey which has seen him travel throughout Australia, Europe, India, and the United States.
Ice Hockey World Championship
The 2015 Ice Hockey World Championship is underway.
Two of the largest cities in the Czech Republic, Ostrava and Prague, are hosting the event.
The International Ice Hockey Federation, along with the Czech Ice Hockey Association, expects over 600,000 spectators to attend the championship.
Sixteen teams will compete at the championship which ends on May 17.
