World Taekwondo calls on global taekwondo family to support fundraising campaign for Great Champion Scholarship for Lebanese children
LAUSANNE, Switzerland (August 27, 2020) - World Taekwondo today outlined how the global taekwondo family can help Lebanese children in need through its newly launched ‘Great Champion Scholarship.’
The scholarship was launched by World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue to help children in Lebanon tragically affected by the recent explosion in Beirut. The scholarship will directly cover children’s school and education fees.
World Taekwondo and Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF) have launched a social media campaign to raise money to fund the scholarship. The campaign calls on people to ‘Recreate, Donate and Nominate:
· Recreate: Recreate a pose where you stand with your hands clasped in a sign of respect, condolence and solidarity with those who have been affected. The pose can take place wherever you are in the world and should be posted on social media with the hashtag #WTstands
· Donate: Donate what you can to help the children in Lebanon using the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-taekwondo-education-in-lebanon
· Nominate: Nominate friends and family to do the same
World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue said:
"We are calling on the World Taekwondo family to contribute whatever they can to this important cause. World Taekwondo stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon during this difficult time. Through the Great Champion Scholarship we can make a real difference in the lives of children greatly in need."
