With the aim of spreading the unique values of our sport worldwide and raising the level of competition all over the world, World Skate proudly announces an awesome new project: The World Skate Academy will officially begin courses in October 2020.
Under the World Skate Sport Department, the Academy will create a team of coaches, skate instructors, judges and referees, sharing common values and technical backgrounds, who’ll be ready to promote and spread our sport in their own countries.
The courses will be held by the best specialists available and will be a real support to the training plans of World Skate NGBs’ in both developing countries and those with existing national sport schools.
Worldwide, the Academy will train a team of Coaches and Skate Instructors with a common technical know-how. Thanks to continuous updates, our Coaches will master basic to high level skills, including information that can apply to elite athletes participating at the highest level of competition. Instructors will be trained and educated to promote the values and technical aspects of the sport to their region. Working from a technical level and as fitness instructors, they will have a key role in the future development of our sport, being able to introduce kids, young adults and adults to skating.
Only World Skate Academy judges and referees will receive an international license allowing them to judge sanctioned competitions: It will surely contribute to a higher level of international competition and in a few years we will be able to see the results of this new educational approach.
Finally, children in World Skate camps will enjoy our sport in a playful mood while learning the basic technical skills from the most capable coaches in the world.
