
(ATR) Tokyo 2020 has signed Canon, NEC and Fujitsu as gold partners.
The signings bring the total number of top-tier partnerships to five for Tokyo 2020. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Canon was announced as a sponsor on Feb. 18 and will cover the "Still Cameras and Desktop Reprographic Hardware" category for the Games.
NEC and Fujitsu were unveiled as sponsors on Feb. 19. NEC will cover the "specialist public safety equipment & software" and "network equipment" categories, and Fujitsu will serve as partner for the "data center hardware" category.
The three companies joined Asahi Breweries and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp as the top-tier sponsors for the 2020 Games.
Rio de Janeiro signed six top-tier partners for the 2016 Olympics. Tokyo 2020 has said they expect to raise $1.3 billion from domestic sponsors for the Games.
European Games Gets Transport Vehicles
Nakhchivan Automobile Plant (NAZ) will serve as the official car of Baku 2015.
Baku 2015 announced the partnership on Feb. 18, and NAZ will provide the first European Games with 280 Lifan branded vehicles to use during the Games.
As part of the agreement NAZ will be able to use the Baku 2015 logo on promotions for Lifan cars in Europe and China.
"[Baku 2015] has signed an agreement with NAZ, in accordance with which 280 vehicles will be used to transport a number of clients including national Olympic committee members and media and broadcast personnel throughout the event," Baku 2015 said in a statement.
NAZ is the ninth official supporter of the Baku 2015 European Games joining McDonald’s, Tickethour, Milla, Sitecore, Motorola Solutions, Azersun Holding and Bazarstore.
First Archery Sponsor
World Archery signed its first sponsor.
Axcel Sights became the first supporter of the new World Archery Sponsorship Program on Feb. 16.
The federation announced the partnership in a release, which said that Axcel Sights will become the official sight of World Archery for 2015.
Axcel Sights previously sponsored the European leg of the Archery World Cup for the 2013-14 season.
