
(ATR)The Sports Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) is tackling the current trends and realities surrounding sports betting on May 8 in Porto, Portugal.
SIGA is bringing together top-level CEOs, betting operators, lawmakers, law enforcement, industry experts, civil society leaders, media representatives, sports executives and influencers for its "Sports Betting, Integrity and Media" expert summit.
Some of the topics to be discussed include "the Role and Responsibility of Betting Industry towards Sports and Consumers" and "Prevention, the Best Remedy: Early Warning Systems, Whistle Blowing, Training & Education and other Instruments".
According to SIGA, this event will include the announcement of a series of action-orientated initiatives to drive solutions and meaningful reforms.

SPORTELSummit 2018 Less than Two Weeks Away
Miami Beach is awaiting those interested in SPORTELSummit 2018, a convention for sports decision-makers and other professionals of sports media.
Sportel chief executive Laurent Puons tells Around the Rings the event "is our new invitation only two-day Summit for senior executives to come together and shape the future of the industry".
The dates are May 15-16 and the summit will include, among others, a discussion on the value of media rights of those properties considered second- and third-tier.
That conference will be moderated by Robin Jellis, editor of Sports Business, and will include Frank Leenders, the Director General of Media and Marketing Services at FIBA, and Ralph Straus, commercial director of FEI.
FIBA World Basketball Summit
The first-ever FIBA World Basketball Summit, a gathering of stakeholders from across the globe setting out to build the sport's future, will take place in Xi'an, China, on October 3-4.
The two-day event will bring together a wide range of high-ranking personalities in world basketball - from top level officials and management personnel in federations, clubs and leagues, to business leaders and heads of corporations across areas such as media and technology, brands and corporate social responsibility.
This is the first individual sport summit of its kind and marks a significant milestone in the history of basketball's development, reflecting both the global popularity and maturity of the game.

AIPS will hold its Congress in Brussels (AIPS)The 81st AIPS Congress will be held from May 7-10 in Brussels, Belgium.
The Congress will be hosted by AIPS in conjunction with Sportspress Belgium and will cover a wide range of topics relevant to sports journalism and its professionals worldwide.All AIPS Congress participants are asked to register. Registration can be completed without the exact flight details. Registration will close on April 16.
"This Congress will be a fundamental meeting for our organization," pointed out AIPS President Gianni Merlo."We have lots of topics of relevance on the agenda such as the AIPS Sport Media Awards and an important forum 'Sport Journalism: how to stay relevant in the digital age' where we will have prominent personalities of the sport media industry.
