
(ATR) Around the Rings was on-the-scene in Soelden, Austria while the International Ski Federation (FIS) gathered for the FIS Forum Alpinum and the opening races of the alpine world cup Oct. 22-25.
On Friday, FIS conducted their FIS Forum Alpinum as FIS president Gian-Franco Kasper & race directors addressed national ski associations, sponsors, World Cup event organizers and media.
On Saturday, Italian Federica Brignone won her first career World Cup race taking the women's giant slalom.
On Sunday, U.S. skier Ted Ligety won for the fourth time in Soelden passing Austrian legend Hermann Maier.
